Summer 2008: the Best Summer of my Life.......So Far

So this past summer I had the best experiences of my life, and they will stay with me forever. If you don't know, I lived in Rome for two months this summer while studying architecture for a study abroad program. It was AMAZING! Eight months later I still have dreams at least two nights a week where I am in Rome, I want to return so badly.....

This was at our first family dinner at a wonderful restaurant...mmmm...pasta

View from St. Peter's Cathedral

St. Peters

the Colosseum

My friend Caty was very excited when we rented scooters...I had to put this one in because it makes me happy every time I see it

Our second family dinner

Me and my roommate Morgan...definitely my fav

Me imitating this sculpture in the Vatican

We went out to bars and dancing...often. This is me really excited to get my dance on, I really just lived for the dancing, that was my end goal every night.

More dancing

I swear I'm just blinking...but look how tan I was

Me, getting way too close to the camera

picture of some of the eleven of us at a club

the Trevi Fountain...breathtaking

The Pantheon, I would have to say it was my favorite part, our apartment was just a couple blocks away, so I got to walk past it every day.

Assisi, a town we visited on a field trip

beautiful street in Assisi

Me up on a hill next to a castle where we drank wine and watched the sunset

More pantheon...I actually kissed one of the columns goodbye at four a.m. while we were waiting for the cab to pick us up for the airport

Inside the pantheon looking at the oculus

This is a view from Amalfi, my favorite place we visited in Italy

To get to Amalfi we had to take a bus along these tight, winding roads on the side of cliffs. They were very narrow, this is a picture of how close we would routinely get to other cars, I really thought we were going to hit something. It was crazy.

Here is Amalfi....this makes me so homesick for Italy

St. Ignazio

Piazza del Popolo

One of my favorite sculptures (because I love elephants) by Bernini in Piazza della Minerva

St. Agnese in Piazza Navona

There are so many more pictures...so many more memories....I will be going back, if I tell myself this, it will be true.
